westbound wattles/17 mile road, west of dequindre has a large shoulder or is it a 2nd lane? I live in a neighborhood off of Wattles and I have seen many near misses because some folks think that traffic westbound will stop, but most of the time it doesn't. Eastbound traffic turning left and even westbound traffic turning right often comes close to collision with folks speeding past stopped traffic on the right side of westbound Wattles. The road is marked with a solid white line which should mean it is the shoulder but everyone is always in a hurry so they don't bother stopping for traffic turning off of westbound wattles. There is not a sign saying no passing on shoulder but that just furthers the confused message. It's a situation and one that has lead to at least one of my neighbors getting into an accident.
