I thought it was a fluke that it wouldn’t change yesterday. I backed up went forward backed up and went forward and yes after about 3 - 4 minutes it finally changed. Thanks for reporting this issue again!

Thank you for contacting the City of Huntsville - Traffic Engineering. Staff went out and adjusted the southbound detection to more accurately detect vehicles for this approach. It was noted that the striping for this movement has faded and crews will be sent out to update the stop-bar and add a lane line for southbound. Please see the attached image and always keep your vehicle behind the stop-bar in the image. Once crews add new markings this will be more apparent to drivers. Re-opening due to still having issues. I sat again at the light for > 3 minutes with no signal change this morning and again this afternoon. Made sure to stay behind the second marking as indicated in the photo above. Still not actually fixed.

We actually stay behind the marker too and it wasn’t working. But, it seems the two car detection strips on the right don’t work maybe and the one on the left works better? It seems to change when we move our car to the left versus further to the right. Try that Josh until they fix the issue.

Thank you for the update Josh. We will go back out and trouble shoot this some more today. What kind of vehicle are you in? That might help me troubleshoot the issue you are seeing and I can have a technician drive it in a similar sized vehicle if we have one in our department.

Thank you for the comment. Staff went out yesterday and adjusted the radar detection at this intersection. During the 2 hours staff was on site all vehicles were detected more accurately. If you have further issues please call our office so we can address it again @ 256-427-6850 and ask for the Traffic Operations Specialist.

I did notice it detected my vehicle this morning just fine. Thank you again for the attention and handling of this issue!
