These antagonists in these areas are infiltrating and successfully abusing the neighborhoods; police presence is scattered. Lets move on to the Federal level of enforcement for help. We are tax payers not being given our right to having a peaceful neighborhood and forget contacting the Mayor he is non-existent.

I agree with three comments above. The blasting music surrounds the entire neighborhood, well after 3 -4 am in the morning, weeknights included. The city begs for tax paying citizens to purchase homes here, yet fails to realize that working residents need adequate sleep in order to work and pay their taxes, which funds those music blasters who apparently are able to get their sleep during the day. Vicious cycle ...
I completely agree this neighborhood is not livable. The police don't come when you call. Now no one from the city is responding to these complaints on this website either. It's like everyone has given up and does not care that no one can live, sleep, or work here.
Contact the FBI because its not going to go away; Homeland Security because its a gang out of control; let's not pretend this is something that not's escalating and in order to put it under control you/we require a better means of protection!
Police have clearly given up or rather community policing has failed here. Having officers "befriend" those who cause the most trouble here has proven to be a bad idea. On the flip side, officers who try to do their jobs properly end up being labeled as "excessive" ... it's a no-win situation. I say often that Jersey City has so much potential, it could be a wonderful big city if given the chance, but old habits die hard. Dangerous crime, drugs & alcohol, guns & gangs, discarded litter everywhere, as well as an overall disrespect for one another, the neighbors & the neighborhood in general, will always be major roadblocks to Jersey City ever becoming what the "visionaries" actually envision ... it's really sad
Well said, "Don't give up; you have to move on to contact agencies beyond the city and state levels (ie the government such as FBI, Immigration and Homeland Security." This city has spun out of control and we need to reach further to obtain the support and help we deserve.
Thank You and I agree with you A ... we need help on a higher level. The city itself keeps turning a blind eye and that is not fair to its constituents. The city wants to build and build yet refuses to deal with current problems already here, which will only be compounded as more and more people move in, without thoroughly realizing what they got themselves into
