This has not been addressed and I am frustrated that it has been closed twice saying that it has. There were two separate issues caused by this tree on the sidewalk (a city-owned tree).
1. The root system disturbed the sidewalk and created tripping hazards. THIS HAS BEEN ADDRESSED AND ISSUE CLOSED.
2. The root system also disturbed the drainwater gutter system such that water now pools on the street and cannot flow into the storm drain on the corner. THIS HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED.
In speaking with the city, I have learned that the sidewalk and gutter repairs are managed by two different workgroups within the city PUC, so it was unfortunate that both issues could not be addressed at the same time.
Please fix the gutter to improve rainwater drainage. There is quite a lot of underground waterflow in this neighborhood as it is a former river basin and very low elevation.
