People continue to ignore the stop sign at Santa Maya and Camino Levante. I have lived here for two years and it has gotten worse with cars now speeding through the neighborhood. I have requested a police car be sent on numerous occasions and there has been zero police presence in the area. This needs to be addressed since there are kids riding bicycles and families walking in the neighborhood. I personally have almost been hit by a car twice by cars that are attempting to run the stop sign in less than a month crossing the street to get to my vehicle. I feel it is only a matter of time before there is an accident on this street. PLEASE SEND A POLICE CAR TO ENFORCE THE TRAFFIC SIGNS.

It gets worse by the day, cars are speeding through the neighborhood now. This morning some car almost hit a kid on a scooter. This neighborhood is getting dangerous now with so many speeding cars blowing the stop sign. Please send a police car.

This issue has gotten worse since the last post. Vehicles are now driving at high speeds through the neighborhood and do not stop at any “STOP” signs. The Chula Vista Police department has done absolutely nothing to curtail or stop the unsafe behavior of these people. It’s only a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt.

Whoever this T. Kahl person is he/she really doesn’t do their job at all since nothing ever gets done with any requests. This whole reporting process is a joke. From what I gather this person’s answer to almost all the requests here at Village of Escaya is and I quote “it has not been turned over to the City of Chula Vista so we can’t enforce the laws”. You are better off calling the Chula Vista PD at

So you sat on this complaint for 6 months and did absolutely nothing to alleviate the issue and now you are closing it, that’s about right for the Chula Vista Police Department. Like I’ve said before this website is a waste of public funds since nothing gets fixed. I bet you guys use this site to get a laugh at how people are asking for help with issues while you make jokes about it. The city of Chula Vista government and police department are straight up garbage!

I agree with the residents posting here. This closure of the issue is not right! Is there any way to contact the CVPD directly in their website and file a complaint re the person who closes the case without working on this? Or at lease post the action taken to resolve the issues.

My apologies for the delayed response. Due to turnovers in personnel, many issues were routed to past employees. We are working to correct the issue, which has to begin with clearing out the overwhelming backlog of old and duplicate issues so that we can focus on those that remain current. I drove to the area and watched the stop signs in question on 07/13/22 at approximately 1430 hours. There was minimal traffic in the area and everyone was stopping. I spoke to a resident in the area and asked them about people running the stop signs. The resident informed me that the morning is when people are running the stop signs the most. I will return to this area in the morning hours.

Officer Rodrigues thank you for coming. I do see people are now obeying the stop sign more and more. The mornings are still a little bad but have drastically improved. I am sure that a lot of my neighbors appreciate your help on this since there are a few that walk their dogs across this intersection and their safety was at risk.
