This house has been in this state of disrepair for YEARS!! This hole in the roof, dates back to when the owner took out a roofing permit in 2/2006! He did nothing with it. Why is the city so forgiving about this particular house. I would have guessed this home should have been bulldozed long ago. Not to mention that it has been CONDEMNED for no water. The inspector on this property is Bailey, and was supposed to come out EVERY 25 days to re-inspect for any improvement/s(which of course are none), and fine accordingly. The fine should be up to 2000.00, but according to Jeri, it is still at 800.00? This needs to be done pronto. Our neighborhood is sick and tired of this homeowner(who owns multiple homes in different counties as rentals) thumbing his nose at us and the city. The neighbors want to know, when is ENOUGH already?? This man has had AMPLE apportunity to repair this house. He has no desire to fix it, just make money as a slum loard and try to rent it.

Property is still in disrepair. We are working on an action plan with Tom Deegan (building inspections), Elizabeth Glidden (council person), and Kim McCoy, Northrop Community & Safety Committee chair, after their monthly meeting this past evening.

Has another inspection happened? And what did the meeting last evening resolve? I am trying to sell y home which unfortunately is right next door to this dump. It is hindering me from selling, and has unfortunately decreased MY home value. I am really upset with the city for not coming down on this neglegent "home owner". I am concerned that the different cities do not talk to each other. This guy owns several other porperties he rents, and possibly has the revenue to fix this place up.

The property owner missed another set of deadlines with the problem properties division and the building now has a THIRD condemned sign on it. I have emailed Bryan Starry with problem properties asking for the next step with a demolition schedule for this property and am waiting for his reply. Please forward this to Bryan Starry, as well. Thanks.

1/23/10 Update: The city issued a month ago a "Notice of Intent to Demolish" for this property. The owner needed to contest it by the end of last week. Whether that has happened or not, I will find out next week. But we are moving forward with this...the unfortunate fallout from the situation is several squatters will have to find a new place to live (see picture attached)...

2/7 Update: The owner has contested the notice of intent and was to have a walk-thru of the interior of the property with the city inspector on 2/3. Waiting for findings on that inspection.

This problem property has been torn down. A new home will be built on the site in the Spring of 2011.
