Motorists frequently try to squeeze through pedestrians who are crossing this street, posing a danger to the pedestrians. While the light is green, pedestrians have the right of way, but turning vehicles often get pushy. It is a very heavily pedestrian traffic area, and better multi modal traffic management is necessary here. A pedestrian all-cross light or more police enforcement may be helpful.
