Descrição

Since December 26, 2010 the parking spaces on Pine St. at the NJ Transit Bay St. Station have been blocked by snow. The city of Montclair has failed to plow the street to the curb. As a result, many commuters have been forced to park a few feet from the curb. For over a month this has been the case. As of today, January 31, 2011, Montclair has decided to issue tickets to any commuter parking on Pine St., stating that the cars are parked too far off the curb; even though there is at least 16 inches of unplowed snow preventing one from parking next to the curb. This is absolutely ridiculous and an abuse of power and a travesty of the law system. It is unfair to penalize the residents of the community for Montclair's lack of effort to plow the streets, in particular Pine St., which has numerous parking spaces that commuters require do to the limited garage parking. Instead of issuing tickets to everyone, the policeman should have called for a plow or put in a work request to have the street plowed at night. To start issuing tickets over a month later is irresponsible and unfair of Montclair.
