Description
Some put up markers on a quiet dead end street in Succasunna which narrows a one lane road into a very tight space especially on a sharp bend. People walk on this road and almost get run over by people coming around the bend. We used to have ample space, the snow removal used to be able to be pushed back about 6 feet OFF the road into a huge pile back there. Now the snow is IN the road due to the markers making the road far too narrow. Someone is going to seriously get hurt, as there is no place to walk going around the bend where one is not in the way of an on coming vehicle who cannot see around the blind corner. The other negative, is now the snow makes trying to pass with 2 cars IMPOSSIBLE. So many times folks have almost ran right into our car, and if a UPS truck comes and and you are there...you better kiss yourself goodbye.
Please have someone fix this situation by taking out the markers and allowing two cars to pass on the sharp bend. This was a big mistake. The neighbors have been saying they are going to get up a petition to speed things up.

Man, someone is so stupid! Now Mark Lane is crap. Bad move by blocking the sharp bend on Mark Lane, Succasunna with "reflective markers" for only 4 houses of traffic that may pass it. CRAZY! Now the corner is so tiny and small we are unable to receive larger truck deliveries. THEY CANNOT make it around the corner. This causes someone to have to drive out to an intersection that is also blocked with snow to meet a truck who is sitting blocking traffic. There are folks on Green Lane beeing affected by someone's decision to block up and partially close off the road. There has got to be someone to come and look at this.
The person above was very kind, but this was not thought out or planned well. I was walking around the corner and a CAR BRUSHED AGAINST MY COAT GOING AROUND THE SHARP bend as there WAS NO PLACE for the car to go and no place for me to walk. It is incredibly narrow. The driver apologised profusely, but there is no reason for these markers to be up to casue blockage of the road!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Drove in today, and geez! I'm a road engineer. Noticed the plow job was cockeyed and over way to the left on the way in. Major feet of snow remained on right side around corner and after road straighted out. This caused big trucks to drive on the edges of the road which in turned weakened the frozen payment. Payment has now shifted from a combination of the ice freeze under the pavement and the weight of the vehicles riding on the edges of the road. FROST HEAVES are bad here! There is cracked, lifted and shifted pavement and the markers with the narowing and then side driving all contributed to a costly situation.
I agree, take those things out. Everyone hates how they narrowed with road, and it doesn't do anything for anyone anyway. Serves no purpose. You can clearly see it's a bend. You can't drive more than 10-15 mpg on this entire road anyway, the Speed LIMIT SAYS 25 mph!!! THAT IS A JOKE. Who can drive 25 mph on this road with people walking on it, people with pets etc. It's a completely unrealistic speed limit anyway. Again, someone is not thinking this out. Agreed 100% with Rar R.

The markers were installed to delineate the edge of the road for our plow trucks. Markers have been placed in many locations in the Township where soft shoulders exist. In the process of identifying such locations, I was informed that twice last winter the plow truck got stuck at that location when it left the pavement.
The markers will be removed after the winter season, and the shoulder will be reinforced so that next season the markers should not be necessary.
