This service change was advertised in WMATA's bus service change material. They could have done a better job of noting this and distributing the service change brochures more widely.

With WMATA's two hour free transfer policy, customers of the Giant who do not wish to walk the two blocks to the new H2 stop can take a Connecticut Ave. L bus and conveniently transfer to the H2 or H3 rotues.

I appreciate the response from Mr. strauss but the suggestion to take the L2 to the H2 could easily add 45-60 minutes to the trip. I did see a woman from the city housing in Mt. Pleasant have to do just this--she waited at least 20 minutes with her walker and groceries for the L2 then had to be helped off to wait for the H2--at least another 20 minutes if on time. This isn't about asking for service, it's about Metro eliminating service without reason or proper notification. Even today I heard a message on the bus about changes to the 5a and b30 telling customers to go to the metroopensdoors web site for information. I checked the web site and there is no information about proposed changes. Just like the elimination of H2 service to Van Ness, Metro is conducting these changes in the dark.
