Pavement damaged on these roads by buses coming from all over Oakland County to transport special-needs students to Kingsley Montgomery School. Buses from as far away as Madison Heights and Ferndale drive this route as well as surrounding communiies. The wear can only be patched so much. Most of my neighbors and I have sustained vehicle damage no matter how careful we are. This should be an Oakland Schools issue but apparently they dont seem to care. Shame

These roads are public roads under the jurisdiction of the Road Commission for Oakland County. If you see potholes that need patching, please contact the Road Commission directly (call us at 877-858-4804 or visit our Website, www.rcocweb.org & click on "contact us"). We are not able to monitor this web site regularly.
While the Road Commission is able to patch potholes on these roads, RCOC's long-standing policy is that it only resurfaces subdivision roads if the majority of property owners along the roads are will wiilling to pay for the resurfacing through a special property tax assessment. If you would like to learn more about the special assessment process, please call the Road Commission's Subdivision Improvement and Development Division at 248-645-2000, ext. 2270.

These are public roads under the Road Commission's jurisdiction. We are very sympathetic to the concerns expressed here. We agree the road is in bad shape.
However, the Road Commission has no money to resurface subdivision roads. That's why we have a long-standing policy that we will assist subdivision residents who are willing to pay for the resurfacing of the their subdivision streets. We will work with you to establish a special assessment district project which will spread the cost over all property owners fronting the road, and allow for repayment over a 10-year period. If you would like to learn more about the special assessment district process, please call RCOC's Subdivision Improvement and Development Division at 248-645-2000, ext. 2270.
Unfortunately, the fact that school buses use the road does not result in any additional funding. We guarantee that th school district, which is also hurting for money, will not pay for any portion of the resurfacing.
