You are a real pain in the butt.

My taxes are the source of the Library money, supposedly to be used for those purposes, and if the Library sidewalk has not been shoveled several days after a major storm, a complaint is appropriate.

I'm way too far over the hill to do as you suggest.

Why don't you shovel it if you think that is the way it should be done instead of sitting at your computer daily griping re others' complaints?

I'm heartily enjoying seeing all my neighbors "coming out" to talk about issues, even if they are a "pain in the butt." Life guard, I like your practical turn of mind, but not everyone is capable of helping out, thus the taxation system. If I lived across from the library and owned a snow blower, I'd probably take care of it myself. But I've got a toddler to keep an eye on, rent my apartment and just have a shovel the landlord left me. So I only take care of my sidewalk, even if the other renters in the my same house don't seem to care whether it gets done or not and don't lift a finger. I'm happy we have a city government that will fill in the gaps where the rest of us aren't able. And I'm happy Walt feels free and safe to complain that it's not getting done the way it should.
