说明

I am so happy that the other buildings of the historic Harmony Mills complex are being rehabilitated instead of just sitting vacant like they have for years.

However, I do have an area of concern at the site of the southernmost building, which is currently being refubished by Beebe Construction Inc.

There is a piece of historic stonework of the Mohawk Canal System on the north end of the complex, which is in danger of damage due to construction practices.

All the stonework surrounding the Canal Locks are Historic Sites related to the Mohawk section of the Old Erie Canal, and should be treated with the utmost care in order not to damage this priceless piece of local history, which should be the pride of the citizens of Cohoes.

I understand that this piece of stonework's close proximity to the building makes it difficult to work around, however extra care should be used to make sure that it is reconstructed as authentically as possible, in order to make sure it is available to be seen for generations to come.
