thier must be some thing wrong with this report i have been useing this inter for 50 years and its a lot better than most streets ????????

If "better than most streets" is the attitude you have taken with a road you have been using for 50 years, despite the obvious poor quality the city has taken in the patch jobs and blatant disregard of open pot holes, it is no wonder there has been nothing done to correct it.

Someone is building a new house and the road was torn up again. Will this ever be resolved?

There is a trench across the road at the newly constructed house that was filled with loose gravel. So now we have a makeshift speed bump the damages your automobile when the pebbles go flying. Who is responsible for maintaining the roadway? This is becoming ridiculous.

From about 12/10,thru maybe 4/11 our city manager held meetings with civic groups around the city; hosted in the schools. Aberdeen was one of them highlighted in the DP. In these meetings she spoke to the citizens about deep slashes in the 2012 budget to save schools and essentials services:ie police and fire. We were told routine services (parks,public works) would be hit hard and services would be slowed. Some of your basic routine services are: paving (streets and roads), drainiage maintenance/ditich crews, mosquito control/entymology, and the list goes on. The civic associations voted yes to cutbacks to save :Schools,Police,and Fire. Now you see the results.

There is another open pothole on this road.

This has not been resolved. The road seems to be cracking more and there is a new pothole.

The road does need serious repair. You can not drive near the middle of the road without your car bouncing all over the place

etc. Most citizens are unaware that the police,fire, PW and parks folks can not have working vehicles to do labor if PW Fleet Managment does not have the mechanics to repair the serviice trucks. Yet the vote getting blocks are schools,police and fire.

this was reported over a year ago. This is a third party site that is not monitored by the city of Hampton. It is recommended that you call 311 to make sure this is on their list of concerns. As stated next time you should vote to cut essential items or vote to have your taxes raised. If this has been fixed you should remember to close issues that you open.
