PEOPLE DRIVING on Jackson tend not to stop and drive right through the stop sign if they are going straight. I have seen numberous cars almost get hit.
A traffic light might be needed.
There is no light needed at that intersection. Drivers have been going through that intersection for years and to put a light there wouldn't make it better. Just because an individual had a problem at one time at a particular intersection doesn't mean a light is needed. There are already too many traffic lights anyway.
I agree with the other gentlemen that another traffic light is not necessary. Changing a stop sign to a traffic light isn't going to solve the problem. Besides, we have too many traffic signals already.
You don't live on this corner. I've lived here over 16 years and have seen and heard countless accidents sometimes 2-3 in one week. Most involve someone running the stop sign. A traffic light is definately needed. This intersection has about as much, if not more traffic than High street. At any given time, even on a Sunday early morning, there is always a car at this intersection. Also, at that hour, I can literally hear people driving full speed through the intersection without even breaking. I don't know of any other four-way-intersection with this much traffic.
not really, PPD needs to enforce the rules and instead of sitting on beech st trying to catch speeder all the time sit there and catch the ones not stopping for the stop sign
