Description

New Haven resident requesting additional pathway lighting on the New Haven Green, (some pathway lights are burned out, and additional can be installed on the area between Church & Temple.

The area is dark and can be dangerous for Yale students/faculty and all citizens who live off nearby.

Engineering will be installing new lighting along temple st to improve the lighting along that street through the Green. I'll now recategorize it as a Parks Request as part of the request refers to the internal lighting in the Green.

Planning is currently underway to convert all the lighting on the Green to new LED heads. Damaged poles/lights will be upgraded at that time. It is anticipated that the work will be completed this fall.

Sorry - this comment was not closed when we updated to all new LED fixtures which are significantly more reliable. There is also a new pilot installation of tree lighting on the internal upper green which is being contemplated by the Proprietors of Green.
