Gate is owned and maintained by the property owner, code will be notified. As an FYI, access to the lake is not prohibited if the homeowner were to choose to remove as to repair.
As you can see by the new photo this belongs to South Broward drainage district easement area private property. Homeowners do not have access to this. It is by an elementary school it is unsecured and poses a threat to small children walking by. Both homeowners have their sides gated it does not belong to them.
Fence and gate was installed by the current or previous property owner, and is the responsibility of the current property owner to maintain. Property is privately owned, see picture. South Broward Drainage simply has easement rights. If the homeowner wishes to erect a fence then they must provide a gate for SBDD.
So if they own it they shouldn't have a problem removing the sbdd lock that literally says sbdd on the lock. Also they should be able to remove the sign that says SBDD personnel only. There must be a better solution. It has been fixed in the past. Both neighbors have it fenced on their side completely enclosed.
