Thank you for contacting City of Huntsville Traffic Engineering. Underground wiring for detection was damaged due to recent concrete work and ADA work in advance of resurfacing. Detection typically would not be recut into the pavement until resurfacing was complete. However, RADAR DETECTION was chosen for this location that will also provide traffic count information. Traffic Engineering has been working to complete the radar installation. We plan to have complete today and over the weekend if necessary. The holding of signals that are not changing efficiently that you are experiencing will not occur once we complete the install.

We have now completed installation of radar detection equipment. Thank you for your patience during our installation for best detection at the intersection of Drake/Whitesburg. We will be monitoring for any adjustments.
