On May 15, 2013 I reported a street light out to Georgia Power At 664 Shortline Ct., corner of Shortline Ct. and Central Line. Pole #10 with pink bow tied to it. Outage #63879.
Neither has been fixed.
I am in favor of speed bumps or better yet speed dips, The speed is posted 25 mph, but many cars travel in excess of 50 mph.

I only saw the streetlight outages addressed. The speeding, ongoing vehicle break=ins and installation of speed breakers were not addressed. This subdvision has constant cut= thru traffic traveling at high rates of speed!

The City of Stockbridge currently contracts with Henry County Police Department to provide police services within the city. Stockbridge City Manager's Office assigned this issue to Public Works

Please know that requests for speed humps, stop signs, no truck signs, lowering speed limits, etc. are categorized as “Traffic Calming”.

Although the City’s Traffic Calming Policy and Procedures are still in draft form, the City is unable to install a speed hump without a traffic study. There are various factors that must be considered including speed, volume, accident data, and input from first responders to make an accurate assessment as to whether a traffic calming device is needed.

In the meantime, within the next 3-6 months, the City’s Public Works Director and Public Works Assistant Director will discuss options for improving signage in the community, order and replace the signs and ensure the police are notified of this issue well.

The streetlight o Northbridge Dr. was shining brightly on the evening of Sept. 3. Thanks for the prompt response. However the street light at the corner of Shortline Ct. and Central line, Outage #63879. is still not fixed.

On Monday Sept. 9, 2013, around 7:30 am to 7:45 am, a car travel down Northbridge Dr. hitting 2 mailboxes on the opposite side the car was traveling. It appears she was traveling above the 25 mph speed limit to do this damage. This is the time the school buses pick up, luckily there were not any children hurt. Henry County Police were there within seconds (may have been in the area). I do not see that any warning or citation was issued in public records. The driver said she fell asleep, speed dips or bumps would have awaked her before she did property damage.
Everyone in the neighborhood would appreciate a sincere look into this potentially dangerous situation.

The photo above the mailbox was knocked across the driveway to the left side of the tree. This photo is the tire tracks on the sidewalk. The car is coming toward you from the other side of the road.

This is the first mailbox hit, missed the pole, but sent the mailbox flying down the driveway.

I have written letters to Mayors several times but they seem to have been removed from office before taking any action in regard to speed humps/breakers. Vehicles use this as a cut thru and drive at wreckless speeds through the neighborhood, I.e.50+ mph!

Thanks for letting us know the street light reported via outage #63879 is still not fixed. We are contacting Georgia Power to find out more details of this outage. Is the street light reported on this outage the same type of street light reported on outage #868656 on Northbridge Drive?

We appreciate the additional information regarding the most recent traffic incident. Please know, City staff continue to work on a permanent solution to address Traffic Calming issues within the city. The additional signage mentioned previously is a good start to resolving these types of issues, however, I have forwarded the additional feedback from yourself and Barry to the Public Works Director to explore what other options may be available in the interim.

The streetlight at Shortline Court and Central Line has been reported again to GA Power on 9-16-13.

I live on Seaboard and have the same issue with traffic. speeding and blowing through the stop sign at cenrtal line. I have even seen city vehicles blow the stop. Bigger signs Speed hump or bumps seriping the stop lines marking cross walks. Im all for them.

This Saturday while driving the speed limit I had a car pass me on Northbridge going about twice the speed limit. They have got to get speed breakers placed before someone gets ran over

The speed limit is 25 mph and is well posted.

Signs really dont have an effect on any ones driving habits. A physical reminder (speed hump) has to be in place to remind persuade or make it inconvient for the offender to continue ignoring the signage. The one stop stripe at Seaboard and central line is fading. (and why only one was put down , I dont know)

Also the stop sign on Seaboard (the north side) is too far back . You cannot see the stop sign or cars at the stop sign on Central Line. The stop needs to be on the other side of the driveway.

I think part of that is due to the location of the driveway It was on the other side for a while but cars were stopping in the intersection. I havent had any issues with being able to see cars stopped at sign at the current location coming form either way on either street.

I noticed it has been approximately 5 months that have passed and nothing has been addressed that we are aware of with regard to speed bumps on Northbridge Drive and signage to stop cut-thru traffic. Cars continue to travel at high rates of speed down Northbridge Drive, i.e. 50+ mph in residential area. Please update on what has been done as to progress of getting this resolved?

Last night 2/3 my neighbor on Northbridge Dr had all 4 tires and wheels stolen off his truck, porch light unscrewed and truck left sitting on blocks. The speeding traffic, cut-thru traffic, speed breakers and vehicle break-ins/theft still have not been addressed!

Thank you for your comment Barry. Please know that the City is still looking to address the traffic calming portion (speed humps, signage, etc.) of your request. As Seaboarder indicated, the City has undergone a change in administration and are working to get up to speed (no pun intended) and prioritize various City issues. Regarding the crime issue(s), as you know, the City contracts it's police services through Henry County. I would encourage you and your neighbors to reach out to that agency to address your concerns regarding the crime in your neighborhood. I personally experienced a burglary on 1/23 in the apartment community I live and I tell you, it was a devastating experience. While my complex is within City limits, I realized the issue is not within the scope of current City services, so I am working with the management there to see if we can work with Henry County to look at starting a neighborhood watch there to discourage such criminal activity. I hope this information gives you direction to address that portion of your concern. In the meantime, please bear with us regarding the traffic calming policy as the new administration reviews this case. Thank you!

I agree that things are getting worse in Northbridge. I saw a couple of days ago some one comming to a stop at the stop sign at central and some one fly up behind that one pass him and blow through the stop sign like he wasnt even there. No reguard for any ones safety.

I understand the new administeration has just taken over and I think they will do a much better job than previous ones! However, these issues have been brought to the past ones numerous times with empty promises from them. That's why the frustration when we see these problems continue and money from the previous administerations wasted instead of addressing much important things, I.e. safety and protection!

We are still having issues with speeders on Northbridge Drive! The situation isn't going away. Yesterday AM while children were out catching the school bus there were at least 3 cars running 45 mph down the street. A week ago I actually had a car pass my wife and flip her off because she blew the horn at them. How long does it take to get something done with speedbreakers?

Neighbor At the corner of Sideline and Seaboard broken into on the 9th of Sept. About 8 Am while they were taking child to school. They were still in home upon homeowners return. Access through front door, were driving a gold Toyota. Apparently they were watching to see when owner was gone.
