Excessive speed on Florence Avenue; used as a cut through; dangerous for residents entering and leaving their driveways and children playing in the area; has been requested many times to no avail
Obviously you must be one of the foolish people that speed through the neighborhoods disregarding the speed limits posted and no I do not live at the top of the ridge. Perhaps you are one of the adults or parents of children that are behaving badly by getting or letting them behind the wheel of speeding vehicles racing through residential neighborhoods. Hassel or not, it is illegal to drive over the posted limits and if speed bumps prevent dangerous conditions to anyone, animal or human, then so be it. You must not be residents of this street or your comments would not have been met with such ill will. It is closed minded people like all of you that keep good things from happening. If you want to speed, take your car out on I-95 take your chances with the local police.
Well actually, I dont speed. And my driving record reflects that. I am smart enough to be cognizant of my surroundings. There are over 5 stop signs on Florence. THAT is what controls the speed. So rather than commenting on other peoples ignorance, pick up a book a read and try to learn something. And local police dont patrol I-95. (The I stands for interstate......State Police Patrol it).
There are dozens of (cut) through streets in the borough of Aston. I live on one of them. We have a speed bump. However its at the other end of the street so it does little good to slow down the idiots who drive too fast down our residential street. To slow down our street adequately, we would need at least two more. I looked into the cost of a speed bump and it runs on the order of about $1800 per segment and there's about 4 segments per speed bump. Filling the streets with speed bumps is not only costly but will not slow down every stretch of a street. I don't know what the answer is. It really comes down to people not giving a sh!t as they blow stop signs and fly around blind corners. This will always be an open issue as long as apathy rules. I've had more than one ignorant @#$% habitually rip down my street. I've made it a habit of parking my truck in the driveway and on a few occasions timing gave me the opportunity to pull out just as they came screeching around the corner where I blocked the road and gave them a piece of my mind. Haven't seen either since. Guess they found another street to terrorize.
Haha, now thats how it should be taken care of. That is the American way. When you see something wrong, fix it yourself. We need more people like Bullroarer. Keep up the good work

Well Mr. Chilly, you've obviously had your head in a book too long and can no longer count. I live on Florence Avenue and there is one stop sign. Cross street Scarlet at the bottom has a sign in both directions but not Florence. Intersection of Park, Norman and Florence shares a three way one, and in nine times out of ten is blown through without a thought. Unlike Bullroarer, I am not about to pull out in front of a speeding vehicle and get T-boned. Also, I was not referring to local police patroling the interstate. No, in your case the American way is to insult someone over something that you know absolutely nothing about, nor care about because it does not affect your personal comfort. I agree with Bullroarer that as long as apathy rules, nothing gets done.
