Your public works crews have to repair this issue. The support departments just dont have the ability to do this type of work.

Moderator this is why Cities don't want to use your site. I drove past here twice and the lights were working. Since this has been fixed this should be closed and archived. Having no control over people that have no idea what they are talking about causes the problems. When is this allowed to be closed since the problem is fixed.

These lights were out today when I came back from my yoga class. Why would you not want thiese fixed?..

Thank you Rhonda. They were out this morning as well. I did contact the city. They said Dominion power is aware and is supposed to fix them. I guess using this site is a waste of time since they can't repair it and you just have grumpy ole men folk telling me I'm too dumb to know if a light is working or not.

The comment prior to ours noted that the lights had been fixed, which is why we closed the post with our last message. Feel free to leave it open if the lights are indeed not working.

I was not aware that our city did not use this site. I will be sure to contact city hall and ask them to consider using seeclickfix. It is a great website! In response to the person posting above, i drove thru this area today, as I do every day, and the lights were not working. If it has not been fixed, should the issue be closed? I will call the city and report it also.

That's why I didn't close it when I was asked to. It hasn't been working in months. Again the city says its the power company's problem but I'm happy that a real citizen and Rhonda can validate that I didn't imagine this dangerous issue. Deer season is over so I guess the others don't care if we hit them with our bikes and cars? I think it should be open until its fixed regardless of who fixes it!

Trying to figure out why you say there is no light in this area when there are 10 street lights in between Gatewood road and the entrance to Riverside hospital. All of these lights were lit last night. Also why should the city monitor a website that does not provide accurate reporting information when they have a 311 system in place which will take all of these reports by calling 757-933-2311 or simply 311 from any land line with in the city limits? As well as its own online reporting system that has been in place for quite some time http://www.nngov.com/all_services I have used both city systems several times and my problem is addressed quickly.

Like it or not, this site works well. I lived in NC and it worked well there also. I pass thru here and the lights are not on. Simple fact.

Again, i ride thru here on my way to work and the lights are not on. It needs to be left open untill fixed.

Question: I have been following this thread from the start. Is this request for the street lights on Warwick Blvd between the entrance to the Hospital and Gatewood Dr. If so I commute down this corridor daily and have noticed that a lot of it depends on the time you hit this corridor as to if the lights are on or not. Keep in mind that each light is controlled by its own photocell so each one cuts on and off independently. At the 5:15 pm time frame I have seen where not all the lights are on but at the 5:45 pm time frame they are. Just last night they all were on but one and that one had a tag on it from Dominion Power that said bad overhead - so Dominion is working on getting that one on. Also each day we are getting more daylight so the time frame that all the lights are on will be getting latter. This ping pong effect of open and close is ridiculous. Simple fact - as stated - the lights are burning, but the one. Real Citizen, what time are you riding through this area? Are you willing to meet a City staff person?

Marsha, Street lights are not on during the day. Are you talking about the Street Lights or the Traffic Signals?

You stated above that the light was not working.Why would I have to meet with City staff? I am sure that staff has better things to do.

I come here twenty two year ago from laos. This city much better and roads very good then back in Laos. This city always take care of community people. This blog is good. Let city work sometimes thing take long time from weather. Good work will be done.

Go bak to Laos. They did there best to fix it. Close it.
