Description
The SUP curved bridge with a hardwood timber deck and a downhill approach is slippery when wet, with restricted visibility due to trees. One accident has been reported in this location due to the slippery surface in wet weather. Suggest that the surface be modified to make it non- slippery ideally using a grit finish (as has been done recently on the PVC). If not add "slippery when wet signs" and trim vegetation to providie visibility. Risk of accident / incident high in wet weather. Potential consequnce moderate (abrasions to concussion). Costs moderate.

I had a fall here in 2011 a day after rain, when the road and pavements appeared to be dry but the timber was still greasy. PCC's Service Manager Procurement and Risk assumed me the bridge was in good condition and that the PCC had no liability for bodily injury to third parties under the Civil Liability Act. He also recommeded selective trimming of vegetation to imporve sight lines. As far as I can make out this has not occurred in the last 2 years. If anyting the trees obstructing visin are thicker.
At a minimum signs should be installed warning "Slippery when wet". Ideally a non slip surface should be applied.
Now closing this issue unresolved.
