Deskripsyon

Bushes, grass, and weeds grow out of control under utility lines running through residential community. Growth is less than 20 feet from some houses. Growth could be attracting snakes and rodents.

The areas on both sides of Antique Lane under the power lines are ugly, overgrown and invite people to dump debris. Duke Energy Progress should be held to the same standard of maintenance as private residents. You can be sure if a resident left their yard in the condition of these areas under the power line, the residents would be required to clean up the mess. These areas are in plain sight, and the condition is only getting worse.

Parks & Recreation checked on this area, this is not an area maintained by the City, the property owner is responsible for maintenance. This has been referred to Housing & Environmental Division for review, an update will be posted once we hear back from them.

An inspector is currently working with Duke Energy Progress on having large area of right of way under power lines through Cobble Stone neighborhood cleared. We will post an update as soon as the schedule for clearing the right of way is confirmed.

Please ask Duke to trim and mow the grass along Valley Stream Drive which is adjacent to the Cobble Stone neighborhood. There is also a lot of trash that accumulates along Valley Stream near the utility towers . . . it's a real eye sore with the combination of trash, unkept grass and tall weeds.

I'm a resident/owner and I like the high vegetation growth. It offers a kind of privacy buffer between the two developments. Also, it's a fact that if you cut it back too much, rodents living in there will migrate into the adjacent houses. Leave it. It's not bothering anyone.
