Description

Having three lanes each way on Huron between Telegraph and downtown makes it too easy for people to swerve in and out of traffic and speed. These people just get caught at the next Red light so having the extra lane each way does not help traffic flow or bottle necking. Face it with the economy, rush hour is not what it used to be.
Each of the right lanes could be used to make Huron safer for everyone. Each right lane could be dedicated as an bike lane and also allow a safe spot for buses to load and unload passengers. This would actually help traffic flow as you would not have cars stuck behind stopped buses, or people recklessly weaving across three lanes.
Now if we could only stop people from jaywalking across Huron and use cross at a light. At least with one less lane each way they would not have 7 lanes to cross.
