Deskripsyon

Under the bridge of I-485 on NC 51, there are no sidewalks and no safe place for pedestrians to walk under the bridge. They are forced to walk in the travel lanes or the merging lanes coming off of I-485. People coming off of the interstate are looking in their side view mirrors to merge into NC 51, could easily overlook a pedestrian, and not see him or her until it's too late. Especially at night. Also in this area, I see lots of pedestrians walking with their backs to traffic. Especially here, police should ticket pedestrians who do not walk facing traffic, or at least try to correct them.

I am trying to report a issue that has been a bad on for over 15 years or more. I do not under stand how to use you wed site but I am trying. My issue is the blocking of Westinghoued blvd. by a train at Texland ave. and westinghouse. This happens several times a day and for somr times longer thatn the law allows. Safety issues for emergency vechiles are my main issue . Along with long lines of traffic. Please see if you can help. Thank you Pete Puckett a concerned citizen.

There is not much that can be done without rebuilding the bridge which would be a major project. Signs should be posted that instruct pedestrians to walk facing traffic so that they can take evasive action if not seen.

Again, signs should be posted that instruct pedestrians to walk facing traffic so that they can take evasive action if not seen. They are most likely to be hit by drivers coming off of 485 inner loop because they are looking in their side view mirrors to merge into NC 51.
