Description
Street lamps in area of 1005 Quinnipiac Ave have been cycling between on and off about every two minutes or so. When they are out it is pitch black on the road and in front or resident's homes. This has been happening for at least two weeks now. As this is a stretch of Quinnipiac known for speeding issues can someone please look into this before we have an incident with injuries, or worse. My thanks in advance for helping with this issue.

Q. Please describe in as much detail as possible the location of the pole. Pole number and cross street would be the most helpful.

Like I said, I really was patient and understanding of this, but now it's just ridiculous how inept the response has been.

The light has been replaced today by a brand new LED fixture. I acknowledged the issue on 8/15, but as there was no pole number, I made a site visit on the morning of 8/16 at which point i posted my reply here and placed it on our work orders for our contractor. Our contractor went out and replaced the bulb, which is the usual failure mode for a cycling street light. For cycling conditions, it is difficult to immediately verify that a light is not cycling as that would require the technician to wait around until the light is fully on and warmed up, then another length of time to make sure it is not cycling every 10 minutes or something like that. Clearly, there was a further issue with the fixture beyond the bulb, and as soon as I saw the message this morning that the light was still cycling, I issued a work order to our contractor to install a brand new LED fixture.
In addition, I contacted both UI and AT&T regarding the pole scrap on the lawn of 1007. If they have not already removed it, they will shortly.
We very much appreciate your efforts to report and follow up on this issue. Please let us know if your concerns have been addressed.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! New LED lamp is operating perfectly and provides better illumination to boot! I (and my neighbors) appreciate very much the work to resolve this issue.
As far as the pole scrap, that is still there, so we'll be patient at this point. Would just like to get another grass and brush cut there before the Fall, but there's still some time.
In any case, I'm appreciative of what's been done with the street lamp.

I'm happy to hear you like the new LED lamp. We are working hard on converting as many lights as we can to LED, as the light is much better and they use almost 60% less electricity.
There has been considerable email chatter between the different utilities since I mentioned the pole scrap to them, and I hope they pick it up this week. I think AT&T is the responsible utility. Please let me know by posting again if they have not picked it up by Friday and I will remind them to take care of it.

We are delineating Street Lamp issues that are current and need the city's attention to resolve. Any issues prior to Dec 31, 2015 are being closed. If your Street Lamp issue still needs to be addressed, please create a new issue by selecting the Street Lamp service request in SeeClickFix. Providing a pole number and/or a more precise location is important. Once your issue is submitted, the Transportation, Traffic and Parking Department will acknowledge the issue and create a maintenance/repair work order.
