Wow Selena ~ quite the response above. We don't want Ansonia to turn into a Bridgeport, that's why people with "ownership" in their properties report blight. 14 in one unit? Doesn't sound like it meets regulations.

I would tend to agree with "Neighbor" above.
Providing home ownership is key to a successful city infrastructure and respective demographic. To this day my biggest fear in Ansonia is watching the Rental Community grow substantially over the years due to it's social-economic makeup with emphasis on quality of life. One has to realize that a large portion of your increase in property taxes support the subject rental community via education funding and many can transit overnight to anywhere as they vacuum your dollars you worked hard for. I do not think and as a point highlighted by Selena, blight conditions and demographics will not get any better within the corridor of Ansonia's North End until some of those large buildings or factories she may be referring to are totally removed from the economic factor representative of Ansonia's economic decline due to sheer appearance. Mayor Dell must address this very issue prior to the small and easiest of tasks of home owner blight. I can guarantee you the current and New Holding developer of the subject factories will turn his personal interest position 180 degrees for profit only due to his inexperience as a developer with no known track record anywhere to be found. I think people follow by example from the larger blight structures affecting their property values within such a close proximity. I never seen Ansonia in such a sad state of affairs in the 65 years I have been living here.

First call the blight officer. In response to Selena, by letting blight happen it depreciates the value of everyone's home. We lose money in our investments. Hopefully someday you will own property and understand how it effects the neighborhood. I love my neighborhood but I have had issues with neighbors who let things pile up in the yards looking like trash. I have had to call the blight officer. If he does not know he can't fix it.

I guess living in Bridgeport people become accustomed to living with blight, what a shame...lets keep Ansonia clean.
