this has been an on going problem for as long as i can remember. i could see if it a fire but it not even a Mercury van parks there for an hour or more
well brad, you ever think about stopping at the station and asking an officer/driver about it, or telling them your concern? hiding online and complaining won't fix a thing other than a way to vent to a few unconcerned individuals. Better yet, join the volunteers and solve the issue from the inside and be a part of the solution not another problem that this town doesnt need. Yes i am one of the guilty few, but if you wanna cry about us, what about all the others stopping and parking in the middle of beech st, franklin st, washington st?????? dont pick on one organization, pick on everyone!
as a matter of fact, i have been down to the police station several times, and nothing gets done! as soon as i go down there and complain, i walk back to the area i complained about, and i have never seen an officer even respond to this, so it's going in one ear and out the other
Well I must say, This issue was brought to my attention last night. And that being said, I will say this.....I have been a member there for 14 years now, and let me say this......Us fireman will park there when we get a fire call, and for the most part that is the only time. I am actually one that parked there the other week and someboby called the police, and YES they DID show up and asked for the Truck to be moved...and we did move it. You know its pretty bad how Brad has to hide behind a computer. I agree...come into the firehouse and Talk to one of the firemen...and Mr. Burton...YOU of all people to complain about this...You were a fireman for how many years and for you to complain about another firehouse...which might I add...the firehouse in your first Due area...The firehouse that will be the first to be on scene...I understand you have hate towards the Pottstown Fire Dept for what has happend. Do you see anyone going on the website which your on and complain!!!!!!!!!WAKE UP POTTSTOWN...these Fireman are here to respond as quick as they can...why bust their balls!!!
ist of all you need to get your facts straigt if there an emergency you can park any where you like i know and understand that been there done that 2nd when you park there for no reason that wrong you know where i live and when your just going into the station you can park legal. i seen several times certain vehicle just parked on the sidewalk for no reason and you have plenty of parking behind your station that just wrong i can see if youre droping something off and leaving, for no reason when they double park all over pottstown where there is plenty of room to park, you can do the same. so dont throw accusation for no reason.

parking enforcement is one of the lowest thing pottstown police enforce you can drive just about any where in pottstown and see that. ive been there during an emergency and when second count you just go for it. my complaint is that mr fireman needs to get some fact straight he brought up a sore subject to me. before he speaks and writes something he needs to get his facts right. he needs to wake up and look at the subject. subject is parking for no reason when there no emergency. just parking on the sidewalk just because you think you can is wrong. most of the time when there is a call you respond from home. if you re going to the station for a truck go for it i have no problem with that. but usally youre not it just a social call i know alot of your members will park legally and seem to not having a problem parking legally
So....Brad.... I am just trying to figure out where you are coming from. I am getting the Vibe you have a problem with the Fire Co. Is that what it is????? If you really think about it, that sidewalk is PRIVATE property...and if you dont believe me....pull the records. And yes you said before there are 4 parking spots in the back...guess what genius...there are about 25 fireman....you do the math....How about you take your baby bottle and go cry about something else. You know is pretty sick how you have to complain about People that help you. Are you even from around that area Brad..better yet The firehouse has heard no issues from anyone about the firemen parking there. As for the Mercury Van parked there, not there should be something done about that. Mr. Fuerman should not park that Van there....As for the previous statement by me to My. Burton....Please disregard..I thought you had a "beef" aganist the fire service...
Sidewalks are private property but just like you might own to the centerof the street it is a public access so you might be found liable if you do not maintain it and certainly if you block it.
the firfighters can't park on the street. Have you ever been on Penn Street? It is narrow. If the firefighters park on the street noone would be able to get by period. Should the firefighters park on the sidewalk if it is not an emergency- no. However Brad you need to get a life- walk on the sidewalk on the otherside of Penn towards the Verizon building.

yes, i do live in the area. last time i checked, sidewalks were city property, therefore, parking laws should be enforced. i don't care what the excuse is, stop parking on the sidewalk. i complain to the police every time i see someone parked on the sidewalk, including the scooters that get parked there.

it bothers me because it's illegal. a lot of times, you can walk by the fire department in a non-emergency situation, and see a truck or two parked there on the sidewalk, and people standing around talking, like nothing is wrong. first off...you see all the available parking spots, why not move to an available parking spot?
