Description
The stretch of Southall road between Easthampton Drive and Castlebrook Drive is unsafely marked for a 45 mph speed limit, despite the fact that there are 2 blind-entrance intersections (with yellow warning signs indicating a safe speed of 35 mph) and a dramatic curve (marked with yellow warning arrow signs) between those two roads. South of Easthampton, the speed limit on Southall is 35 mph; as you drive north, you see the first blind intersection warning, but before you actually get to that intersection, the speed limit changes to 45 mph (see the attached photo--the white sign in the distance is the 45 mph sign; from there the up-coming intersection that the yellow sign warns about is invisible). This makes no logical sense whatsoever!
Having Southall north of Castlebrook be 45 mph is fine--that's a straight stretch of road. Having cars going 45 south of Castlebrook is dangerous, however, making a left turn out of either of the two intersections south of Castlebrook (both going into the Amberfield neighborhood) an adrenaline-pumping moment.
