What good is a sign, when they refuse to enforce the existing crosswalks? Just take a look at the one in front of Cardinal Medeiros Towers. Drivers are in such a hurry to get to the lights at Robeson and Stanley that they routinely block the crosswalk, forcing pedestrians to walk around them. Why waste the paint on the street and metal for the signs if the oinks refuse to enforce the laws?
The City of Fall River Mobile-Application Program will officially launch on Thursday, June 13, 2013. If this issue has not been resolved, please submit a new service request on or after June 13. Thank you.
This crosswalk is very dangerous. We really need signs on both sides of the street with arrows pointing down toward the crosswalk. Cars don't slow down and I have witnessed some drivers get angry if someone does stop in front of them.
those who do actually USE the crosswalk don't use them correctly...nobody pushes the button on the light. they just cross no matter if the light is red or green.
@karenann0313: This crosswalk is not at the corner and doesn't have a light. It's a crosswalk that is directly in front of the church. We have to park across the street near the park and walk. People fly down South Main street in both directions. Hence why I requested a sign on both sides so drivers could slow down in anticipation of people crossing that part of the street. I drive down North Main street every day and am very much aware of the crosswalk in front of the library, therefore, I slow down just in case someone steps out. They have the right of way and as a driver I am to yield to the pedestrians in a crosswalk.
