My feeling is that this particular lane should be turned into a "Eastbound 696 only" lane. Then we wouldn't have so much right-turning traffic all stuck in the one far lane.

Good idea "driver"; I think there should be signage above the lane not just on the road side; it happened again today; someone turning from the 2nd lane altho it's straight only....

Doesn't matter everyone, even if there's a straight arrow they still turn right. They just don't care. I was almost hit this way a couple months ago.

Nice to see the Road Commission addressed this problem. Of course I'm being facetious, no changes or improvements were ever made.
Now it's even worse because it's part of the detour for the Southfield freeway that is closed. I work a couple of blocks from this intersection and almost get hit once or twice a week by someone making an illegal turn from the straight lane.

It would be nice if the the Lathrup Village police would target this intersection.

If people are going to turn from that lane anyways why not just make it a lane from which you could go straight OR turn right to go into the turn around for eastbound 696? This would be a similar setup as when you are turning right to go north on southfield from the sservice drive at the same intersection.

It has been years with no progress on this issue. Is there any update on it from the Road Commission?
