The reason why everyone is confused about where to stop their cars in this intersection is simple!
You stop your car where the red light is! When the city moved back the stopping area because of the Railrunner, they never moved the red lights! They are way out in the middle of the intersection, far from where the signs say to stop.
When I see a light turn red, I stop at the light. But here, you have to stop a full 50-60 feet BEFORE the light! No wonder people are confused.
City of Santa Fe: Please FINISH the job of updating tis intersection and MOVE THE LIGHTS TO WHERE YOU WANT THE CARS TO STOP! Then you won't even need all those extra signs and painted white stripes.

Your recommendation to move the traffic signals on the intersection of St. Francis and Cerrillos Roads was recieved in County Commissioner Viginia Vigil's office. I am forwarding your recommendation to the City of Santa Fe Constituent Services Office for their action. Thank you for your input.
