A beaver dam continues to be an issue at this location. City staff met with property staff and they are aware the maintenance of any storm drainage conveyance or structure on their property is their responsibility. Threequartersfull Properties, LLC is responsible for keeping the drain pipe clear. The City can issue a citation to the property owner requiring them to clear the blockage obstructing the pipe but the City cannot require the property owner to trap or remove the beavers.

The owners of the property have removed the beaver dam as of today, however unless the beavers are trapped and removed from the property this will be a continual problem. Staff will monitor the area on a routine basis and initiate a case if needed in the future. For now the pipe has been cleared and there is not violation.

As excited as I was to receive the email stating the owners of the property have cleared the drain, I was a little skeptical since the water has not receded on my property. I went to the site to confirm what the city stated only to find the drain completely clogged. My question is, does the city take the property owners word or did the city actually go on site to confirm the work had been done.
I am disappointed in the handling of the situation and only fear this problem is going to get worse.

At 1141 am I received an email stating the drain had been cleared. As you can see from the picture(note the date and time stamp) it HAS NOT been resolved.

I initially reported this issue 60 days ago, and to date nothing has been done to correct the situation. I'm estimating 20 feet of my property is now under water with the 3 inches of rain we got this morning. See click fix keeps referring the problem to public works which is fine but again, the problem has not been corrected. There are multiple trees in my backyard that are surrounded by water. Why does it seem as though no one is fixing the problem. My understanding is the Housing Department enforces the rules concerning public nuisances yet The Raleigh Center Ice has yet to take care of their responsibility.

I was assured by James Rigg that the Raleigh Center Ice cleans the drain every Tuesday. The attached picture says it ALL, the water has not receded, which means they STILL have not cleared the drain. So again, another Tuesday has gone by, with no change.

As you can clearly see from the picture The Raleigh Center Ice has NOT resolved the public nuisance violation. Today marks their deadline to open the drain and to date I now have less property and more water in my backyard. What type of business owners are they? Do they think they are above the law? They have clearly ignored the City of Raleigh's order to fix the problem.

Once again, I'm spending time out of my sunday to update my flooding issue because others are not taking care of their responsibilities. Did the city follow up with The Raleigh Center ice on Saturday July 12? I was told by the Housing and Environmental Division I would receive a follow up call last week after they met with The Raleigh Center Ice, did it happen, no. Am I frustrated, am I worried about a tree falling on my house, am I concerned about the overall lack of concern of the Raleigh Center Ice and the City of Raleigh, YES.

The attached picture was the comment posted on my neighbors issue today. Is this seeclickfix or should it be called see you get the runaround? As of 2:54, no one has commented on my issue yet they inform my neighbor different information then what I was told. On July 3rd, I was informed the city was going to set up a meeting with the property owners, as well as the city posted on my issue the deadline to correct the issue was July 13th. Its hard for me to believe after 13 days the city has yet to set up a meeting with the owners of The Raleigh Center Ice. Who is in charge of the comments in seeclickfix? Again, I feel as though we're getting the runaround with no light at the end if the tunnel.

It's quite apparent that the City of Raleigh is not doing their job,this has been a problem for many years and just gets ignored by city officials.Why...do the residents of Forest Acres keep getting the run around from the city on so many issues? Born and raised here in Raleigh I have never in my life had to deal with such incompetence from the City,also being a business owner I am disappointed in the way that The Raleigh City Ice has handled this issue and not taken responsibility for this.It's time to stop with the excuses and come up with a permanent solution folks.

The Public Works Department is on site today removing the blockage at the inlet of the pipe and they will return Monday to begin addressing any blockages within the pipe. Hopefully the neighborhood will see some relief from the rising waters today.
