If people did slow down there might not be a need for a traffic signal. But with poor lines of sight at that intersection, a signal might be needed anyway. But the bigger trouble is, people won't slow down. As soon as the bridges open up there will be more traffic and they'll be speeding (dangerously) again.
Why do they have those speed bumps on Highland Road? Why don't they put some on 162, that would surely slow down traffic, and reduce the need for a light or stop sign on 162.
I was at this intersection several times this weekend and lots of cars were speeding on M/T. The bridges are set to open in the near future so this intersection will likely get worse.
