I'm sorry that you think this a joke. Please remember your response if and when you get the unfortunate call that your son crashed at this hill and is severely hurt, or passed away. It's attitudes like yours and your son's that are the cause of these terrible accidents. It's awful that you simply laugh at the people who have been seriously hurt, and have died because of that hill.

I'm tired of drivers taking this hill too fast. Is there anything that Saratoga Springs is willing to do?

You are missing the point "slow driver.". The majority of people do not drive the speed limit on PSGR. If they did, no one would have gone to the hospital, or worse, to the coroner. As a resident of PSGR, I am simply asking that that more signs are put up warning this hill, or that the police enforce the speed limit.

I agree that the PSGR hill needs attention. Even if both parties are traveling the speed limit this area is still a dangerous location. The problem is a combination of a blind hill and the fact that the road also bends at that point. This mean someone who's traveling south needs to adjust to the right as they crest the hill otherwise they'll find themselves in the oncoming lane. This is all compounded by the fact that few people adhere to the speed limits while traveling through here. Something certainly needs to be done to make this situation safe. A cheap solution would be to post better signs. Ideally we would see the hill shaved down significantly and some law enforcement thrown in for good measure.

Its up to the town of Milton to fix the hill. I remember when our bus got rear ended on this hill. We were stopped just on the bottom of the hill, dropping off kids.. and a car flew over the hill into the back of us.... Its very dangerous. If ppl did the posted 30 MPH it wouldnt be so bad.. but they dont.. They speed up before it, to get a rush.. The rush will be to the hospital when they wreck.....

If you can hit around 45 mph at the top of the hill, it's a nice rush.
55 mph creates a sensation of weightlessness.
75 mph can achieve low earth orbit.

That hill is the most excitement I have all day- don't mess that up for me...

Perhaps the addition of speed bumps would ameliorate the danger. No additional signs will help when a driver like "Vigilant" is on the road. It is particularly terrifying for bicyclists, and I no longer ride the road for that reason.

Firstly, It's a Limited Sight Hill. Secondly, it's jointly the responsibility of the City of Saratoga Springs and the Town Of Milton as the road is divided right down the middle apparently or the EMT's would not waste time arguing over who's job it is to transport when both arrive at the scene. Also, some thoughtless cyclist decided in all their wisdom to add this road to the cycle route. NOT a wise idea considering the high speeding that occurs and there is NO shoulder for the cyclist to retreat to if needed. The only way to retreat from an on coming car is to ditch your bike and jump and pray. YOU dear cyclist are not amune from being hit remember that and the driver at least has a car around them to protect them you have air and a bike frame. Accidents happen out on this road weekly. Several do not get reported as the person knows it would be a ticket for speeding and insurance won't pay the damage so it's out of pocket anyway. Loose the Hill, Loose the thrill as stated in the comments section of the paper.

another accident tonight 11 pm ish 4 teens in buick speeding over hill going towards washington/ 29 . crashed into tree on left accross from second house past the hill. one had minor injuries one had moderate and 2 severe FIX THIS NOW

I hate this hill, half the time someone comes flying over the other side half in my lane. I feel sorry for the folks that live next to it.

We also need to remember, the roads are for everyone, including cyclists. The fault does not lie with the cyclist, but the jerks that can't drive safely. It is like blaming the rape victim for being raped.

In response to Linda, most remember and know the road is for all to use including cyclists but when they idiots that I've seen in the pro gear and 1000 dollar bikes ride two three and four abreast on a limited sight narrow road with limited sight hill that they are approaching... no offense but those bikes because if their actions deserve to be ditched if that even happens ... most of the time it's the motorist that ditches while those riders ride on in utter ignorance to what they've done... some do it just to see what they can cause. Nobody is blaming the cyclists in all but those that ride this road (most of them) ride without applying the rules of biking on the roads. Rarely do the stop at the stop sign properly of planting both feet to the ground, looking both ways with the check, check and recheck rule, hardly ever do I see them using their hand signals and they are suppose to be riding single file not two three and four abreast so please save me the plea for cyclists... they need to start obeying the rules of the road as well.

That is very true! Cyclists need to respect the rules of the road too!
