Description
Especially on the Davis St. side of the East Rock Park, there's been an increase in the ongoing problem of people meeting up for sex in wooded areas of the park. Can't walk my dog without interrupting something, and definitely can't let my kid walk there alone.

I have a life. It involves playing in the park w/ my kid, which is a bit difficult to do under the circumstances. I'm all for people doing whatever they like behind closed doors. But the closed doors really are essential.

The East Rock park is a huge cruising area. Dudes who wanna get with dudes, by all means go for it publicly. But, uhh, not that publicly please, there are joggers and babies around.

The comparison with television is ridiculous - if someone complained about murders in the park, would you lecture them about all the violence that's on TV?

Well, look at it this way, at least you know where to go to get it for free. I doubt any of these people are interested in your kid. Usually, I've found that people having sex in the park go out of their way to be discreet. Are you sure you're not creating an issue where none exists (other than in your mind)?

People are not being discreet at all. The other day, I took a paved path off Summit Drive and interrupted a couple having oral sex right on the path.
And I'm not some kind of repressed nut case. I don't have a problem talking to my kid about sex. I have a problem with strangers demonstrating it in public. That doesn't make me Sarah Palin.

The flag was put on the playground.
I'm sick of that stuff... creepy lurkers making plans on craigslist to meet up there.

Dax, I appreciate that you want to do something about this. But it falls to the police and parks administration to confront people using the park inappropriately.
