Still parking on the street.
Not registered in Bridgeport.
Commercial vehicle stealing residential parking.

There are at least 4 complaints on this commercial vehicle parking on a residential street.

Here is what I get from reading the other complaints:
1. It is not on the Bridgeport tax list meaning it is not registered to the City and should not be on our street.
2. The business license has been inactive for years making me suspicious the vehicle is not licensed or insured.
3. Someone posted in one of the complaints the zoning regulation saying that a commercial vehicle should be out of sight.

I wish the parking was available for my Easter guests.

Please forward this issue to the parking authority, tax collector, and zoning to verify the business.

Someone was good enough to email the municipal code regarding overnight parking.

The long and short of it reads to me that commercial vehicles are PROHIBITED from parking on the street overnight.

Mayor Ganim, please enforce.

10.12.030 - All-night parking restrictions—Streets designated...Vehicles other than commercial vehicles shall be allowed to stand or park between the aforesaid hours...of one a.m. and six a.m.

10.12.060 - Nighttime parking—Penalties.
A. Any person who shall receive a notice from the police department of the city to appear at the office of police headquarters to the effect that his vehicle was parked in violation of Sections 10.12.030 through 10.12.050 of this chapter...

BPD, it has been months. Please explain why nothing has been done.

The city compiled a list of complaints/issues that were reported pertaining to commercial vehicles parking illegally on city streets and is working with the Police Department to resolve the matter...this issue was include on list. Issue is now closed in the Other category.

Do something

This was reported in February and the best you can do is tell the public that there is a list? And then close the issue? Is that the best you can do? Maybe the next mayor can do something.

Another month and no action.
