The new "roundabout" at the intersection of Hudson & Shafter, combined with a two-way *rather than a 4-way* stop has resulted in a reduction in visibility.
My daily bicycle commute means I ride on Hudson and cross Shafter twice a day, and have been doing this for more than a decade.
In the past month, I have come closer to an accident at this intersection more times than in the previous decade in *any* intersection!
Two possible solutions (there could be other ones):
1. Make a longer No Parking zone on all sides of the intersection. Cars parked near the corner block views of oncoming cars and pedestrians.
2. Make it a 4-way stop. Cars driving on Shafter can't see pedestrians or bicycles who are already in the intersection until almost too late. Cars must slow down, but they are not alerted to this by a sign.
Observe the intersection and see for yourself if it seems safe, or if it might be (like I think it is) an accident waiting to happen.

I had filed an issue (closed as duplicate of this one recently) that proposed the very modest suggestion to add Yield signs on Shafter to remind (or teach) drivers that they must yield to traffic in the circle and pedestrians in the crosswalk.
The amount of confusion and honking and cursing and cars coming to a stop in the circle to allow cars on Shafter to enter the circle prompting so many issues to be filled with no action by anyone with the power to improve the situation is disappointing.
