Absolutely right, Gunnar. I first reported graffiti on the new bridge WEEKS ago, and you can still see the some of the most hateful pieces today ("F##k la migras", "Go home crackers").

Maybe until us Oaklanders prove we can have nice things we should wrap all of our new things in plastic like my grandma's couches.
But seriously, City of Oakland, please cover up the tags with paint that completely covers or else it's just pointless. Especially the hateful stuff.

Thank you for reporting that. There is offensive graffiti on that rail and it's been allowed to remain there for weeks as has the large graffiti with the anarchist symbol on the gray wall next to the rail.

These beautiful improvements need to be maintained and any graffiti needs to be taken care of right away. There is also W/0 gang graffiti on the new bathroom doors which is also allowed to remain there for weeks. This is a disgrace and it shows no one in public works has a clue or a plan on how to take care of public property in Oakland.
