There is a fire hydrant just as you enter the city limits of Stanley (Gaston Co.) on Hwy. 27 (coming from Mt. Holly) that is open and has been shooting water out for weeks now. Stanley purchases their water from Mt. Holly....they are painting the inside of the large water tank on Hwy 27 near this hydrant and there were issues over the past month with the water coming into Stanley causing pipes all over town to burst and residents having to boil their water......now we see this water coming out of the hydrant 24/7 for several weeks now and I'm wondering why, how long is it going to run and who is paying for this water? The residents of Stanley already pay enormous water bills. When will this stop?
