Description
This road has had several potholes filled, but the road has natural rolling hills built into them now that make driving on them dangerous and difficult. I've hit the underbelly of my car several times trying to swerve potholes and heaves. The entire road needs to be broken up and repaved, not just repaired.

Hi Erick:
Dominic CT. is a private way and is not owned or maintained by the Town- except for pot-hole filling or winter plowing and sanding. In order for this road to be extensively repaired; all of the owners would have to contribute toward this work. Out of all the streets in Dedham, approximately 30% of the roads are private ways that fall into this same category. This is an effort underway presently to evaluate options (if any) to try and address the concerns over private ways. This is a common problem in most communities around the State. The Town has a comprehensive plan in place to fix all of the Town's roads. We are now looking to develop a strategy for addressing private roads. This is admittedly not easy since the Town does not own the roads.
Thanks,
Bill Keegan

This issue continues to plague the residents of our street. I know it's not a big street, and given the larger construction work happening in the square (which we are very proud of and excited to see once finished), it probably won't get very much attention. However, the potholes have gotten bigger. If we can't get our street repaved, at the very least help us fill the potholes we have so that we can traverse it without having to dodge them. With little children living on the street, cars swerving to avoid them becomes a big safety concern as well. And if you've ever tried to walk on our street with a stroller, you'd know you have to sometimes literally carry the stroller over the holes. As it stands today, many of the holes also impede the flow of rain water into the drains, and actually make the holes bigger!
Thank you for the consideration.
