Description

The Seeclickfix program automatically changed the address I put in. It is NOT at 5000 Piedmont Avenue. It is the street section of Piedmont Ave. from Pleasant Valley to the end of Piedmont Ave.
There has been major construction on this street section for years. The street is beyond description messed up. Patches, potholes, sunken areas, cracking, metal plates. It is terrible to drive over. I can’t provide pictures because I’d need to photograph the whole street.
I was assuming that the new apartments would be responsible to repave the street after construction as part of the agreement to build with the City of Oakland. But I guess my assumption was wrong, because nothing has been done.
This section of Piedmont Avenue has doubled or tripled the amount of use it gets since the new apartments Went up for and more small businesses moved in. It used to be a fairly quiet section leading to the entrance of the Cemetery. Now it is a small commercial street all by itself.
