Description

I'm sure this has been brought up before... but the timing of the light that allows you to turn left from Westbound H st NW onto 3rd st NW in order to access 395 is a nightmare. I live off of H st and I cannot think of any good reason for the light to be timed so short, especially outside of rush hour. The volume on that section of 395 is generally low and the volume on Mass Ave in both directions isn't too bad, but this light is timed so that only a few cars make it through, backing up traffic all the way to Union Station 4 blocks away. It takes more time to get down H st through that light than it does for me to get where I'm going in Alexandria once I reach 395. It would make it considerably nicer to live in this section of NE DC if that light were even just 2-3 seconds longer.
