This whole intersection needs to be redone. It's a terrible hazard from both Dix Park and Boylan Ave. I've nearly been hit in the crosswalk multiple times from unfamiliar drivers who don't realize the light is there when making the right turn, and I myself have almost hit people.

The diagram is wrong. People turning left use the left branch, the one for making U-turns or turning into Dix.

I walk to the park often. Cars regularly leaving the park turn left illegally by proceeding the wrong way as the diagram shows. Another problem is cars turning right on Western from the other side think the red light for westbound western traffic means they can go and blow through the pedestrian crossing. Dangerous!

Meesh, you are wrong. That diagram is correct. People pull into the oncoming westbound lane and then turn left. I see it happen regularly. There is going to be a head on collision one day. Go ride your bike.

If so, that's dangerous as heck, of course. I've only seen people use the safer, left branch.

White delineators have been installed at the intersection of Western Blvd and Boylan Ave to prevent wrong way drivers.
