If a bus, large commercial truck or construction equipment is observed to be running its engine while stationary, please contact the Air Management Services Unit at 215-685-7580.

All other vehicles, (cars, pickup trucks, vans, motorcycles, etc.), please report them to the Police Department at 911. Thank you. (mb)

Hi Rachel, thanks for reporting.
Clean Air Council is gathering information on idling hot spots in Philadelphia to allow for targeted enforcement. Unfortunately there is an exemption in the idling law for emergency vehicles such as ambulances. If this is a recurring instance and you can find out the ambulance company the Council would be happy to send them a letter asking them to refrain from idling except when absolutely necessary.
