Description
Today all along Westborough Blvd a contract company is changing the Median Flag Signs during rush hour traffic. Who's idea is to allow this at this hour? Why not have it done only after 10am? Did they have permission to do this at this hour? And if they had City permission can someone with horsepower throw some common sense in the thought process?

I have spoken with the contractor installing the banners, who responded: “We installed the Westborough Blvd. banners between the hours of 6am and 11am headed on the West bound side (uphill), which we believe to be against the flow of traffic and seems to be the slower traffic speed of the two sides, although drivers are still speeding at all hours of the day. We had only a few cars at any given time waiting to merge around our vehicles and safety equipment. We usually only see one or two cars coming up the hill at a time except for near intersections which groups cars up while the light is red.”
I have directed the contractor to instead only install the banners between the hours of 10am and 3pm to avoid creating traffic delays. Banners are exchanged generally six times per year and we will endeavor to minimize traffic disruption as much as possible. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
