Thick layer of dirt on road causing 24/7 toxic dust cloud left over from new gas line installation by National Grid subcontractor from Rhode Island last week and Talham Paving Co last Monday. You'd think there'd be some kind of close coordination between Albany DGS and these National Grid subcontractors to clean up the aftermath of their digging and paving. Myself and numerous others have complained about these sloppy subcontractors on Clickfix with little subcontractor or DGS followup. Obvious solution is to get a DGS crew here to shovel up the think layer of dry, dusty road dirt and run the street cleaner (or use a water truck) over what's left until road is clean.This is an issue throughout this immediate neighborhood where new gas lines are being installed on many streets such as Maplewood, Barnet, Edison, West Erie, etc.

These projects have been going on for the last couple of years and they haven't washed down the street at any of them. I don't think most people found it to be a problem. The whole thing is a big headache but it's the only way you can get your street paved.
It takes a while for the entire thing to be completed, and I have to say it feels like forever. But the end results are worth it. I've found all of the workers to be extremely accommodating to residents while they are on a street as well. And no I don't work for them but had to deal with this project last year.
