Yes absolutely!! There should be a caution light at the very least here. It is very dangerous if you are trying to pull out onto S Concord. Cars speed on S Concord here all the time.
People make the choice to cut across here. If it's dangerous go to the 926 light and the 202 light. Most of the traffic is people trying to avoid the light.
JT,
Pleasant Grove has a heck of lot more than 8 people living there and I agree the light at 202/926 is a pain but the fixes will not be coming until PennDot addresses 202 which won't happen in our lifetimes. There is just too many people driving on too few roads with all of the growth and development. Urban sprawl creates Urban crawl!!!!!
I am one of the 8 people who live on this road. I have seen a number of accidents here - most recently with a church van going off the road into the trees because the driver was FLYING over that hill and someone pulled out to make a left turn.
I hope they do something within the next 3 years before my oldest is on the road.
local people living in the nearby areas as well as people attending church use this intersection but it makes no difference where you live or where you are coming or going it is STILL dangerous!
Diane,
Unfortuantely, it is going to take soemone getting hurt badly in an accident here to have any politician or PennDot do anything. Our taxes pay for this kind of ineptitude and laissez faire goverment.
fyi the stop signs they installed are in the way of people turning out of Pleasant Grove Road..The one on the right (south bound) blocks the view of cars coming north on Concord Rd.
Interesting thought about the 'flashing lights'....I am an Epileptic without incident for the past 9 years----what genius thought strobing lights, like those recently installed on busses and at intersections like Kelly's Sporting Goods, would be good for a population where 1 in 10 will have a seizure? Strobing lights are not always a trigger but for some it is.....true flashing lights are fine.
just a flasing light on a sign saying stop ahead near top of hill .. not strobe lights., the stop signs at the bottom they placed are too far down the hill.
Diane,
The fundamental issue is that NO ONE stops at stop signs anymore, they should be called "Drift Thru Signs" as that is what 99% of drivers are dong anymore. Just open your eyes when you drive and that's what you will see. This intersection should have a light if you want anyone to really stop.
It won't qualify for a light but that is the only solution. Yours won't work.
