Park Avenue and Drachman intersection is an on going problem. Patch work will not correct this problem, especially with it being one of the rain run off roads. This intersection is awful. Having to almost drive over the curb to avoid the wholes is ridiculious. I have reported this 3 times, and as always just some asphalt is smoothed over wholes and that disapates about in two weeks.

Why hasn't this been fixed yet. It has been over 3 years that this intersection has been in this bad of shape? Why fix Park ave with new asphalt between ft. Lowell and Grant but not fix this area that needs it more.
City of Tucson sucks when it comes to fixing roads. If the road was done correctly the first time then they wouldn't have to spend money to fix it approx 5-10 times over the 3 years. Arn't you glad that probably $10,000 has been spent for a crumbling road.

Some effort was put in recently to patch this area however the bottom line is that Park is in desperate need of a complete mill and paving project. Unfortunately, there is nothing in the works as I write this. I have spoken with several City personnel about Park Ave. from about 1st Street to Grant being repaved but there is just no funding...We will just have to be persistent of reporting to TDOT Streets Maintenance about filling potholes and hope that a paving project will be approved in the future. I've made it known that I would like to see a Park Ave. resurfacing project be added to the list of bond expenditures, but it is not on the list yet and is at minimum 2 years away if it even gets added: http://government.tucsonaz.gov/street-bonds
FYI for all reading this, Park is scheduled to get a facelift/improvements for pedestrians and bicyclists but the vehicle roadway itself is not scheduled for any improvements. Call your City representatives in Transportation and tell them you want Park Ave. added to the list for complete mill and repaving and accelerated because the pavement is well past its useful life...Apparently Park is not a priority even though it is a high volume street serving the University...the more voices the better. Call 791-4371 and voice your concerns.
