Description

Do people really need to know why pedestrians keep getting run over on Central Avenue? Really? All you have to do is bring a stopwatch. The delay between pressing the pedestrian button to cross Central Avenue is a whopping *two minutes'* time, an intolerably long delay. It is plainly obvious that the roadway rehab places the needs and safety of traffic above all else; pedestrians and cyclists are unimportant and do not deserve equal protection or consideration. This is why there is a blanket disregard for crosswalk signals; someone didn't care. Even as the light cucles, the EB left thrn lanes get a green arrow, and all traffic on the crosswalk has stopped, and the walk signal still does not change. Many pedestrians are there for the major bus stop found there. These buses run on fixed schedules, and most pedestrians do not feel like standing on the side of the road for two minutes being treated as third-class citizens for not driving a car.
